Electrical Trade and Alternative Energy Visits a Power Plant!
H.B. Ward Electrical Trade and Alternative Energy classes visited the Covanta Waste to Energy Power Plant in Hempstead. Students learned about the facility and what it does, were provided a tour, and heard about employment opportunities within the company. Students got to see how municipal solid waste is turned into electricity that is sent to the grid for homes and businesses to use.
