Kelly Robrecht

Kelly Robrecht knew she wanted to work with animals when she attended the Academy’s Animal Science Program. However, she didn’t recognize that she wanted to be a teacher until she was training to be a veterinary technician. Robrecht attended vet tech school after high school but quickly learned that it wasn’t her calling. “I realized I wanted more,” she said.

Robrecht considered similar career paths before contacting one of her former teachers and asking how she could make her way back to the Academy, the place where she says she was happiest. Not long after that, Robrecht became a TA, and then a teacher with her own Animal Science class.

Said Robrecht, “It is always something new. While there is stress with the position it is good stress. Being greeted by 28 students in the morning is the highlight of my day.”
