Hunter Levine - Sachem CSD

Culinary Arts Program

Hunter Levine’s high school culinary class started him on a path that led him to the Culinary Arts Program at Milliken Tech. Two years later, this Sachem CSD senior plans to attend Johnson & Wales University in the fall to major in the pastry arts, and one day open his own bakery. Hunter enjoys the camaraderie that comes from having classmates who all share the same passion for the coursework, and feels at home in the Academy’s comprehensive, hands-on classes with experienced chef instructors. “The classes are really in-depth,” he said.  He also likes that his teachers act as mentors and provide all the students with advice for career and college. “Both Chef Kozak and Chef Spiro helped us with college and applying for scholarships and discussed other options as well,” he said. Last summer Hunter had his first taste of working in the industry when he got a job at the deluxe restaurant at L.I. Ducks Stadium in Central Islip. He is excited and focused for a successful career in the pastry arts.
