Erina Turkaj, a senior at Westhampton Beach High School and a dedicated second-year student at Ward Technical Center has carved her path in the medical field. In 11th grade, Erina, driven by her passion for medicine since sixth grade, decided to pursue Clinical Medical Assisting (CMA).  Motivated by her desire to make a positive impact and assist others, she explored the medical field, drawing inspiration from the compassionate care that was provided to her by nurses and doctors. During her time in Clinical Medical Assisting, Erina's dedication became evident during a 30-hour internship at Hampton Medical Care, offering her invaluable hands-on experience. Impressively, her dedication led to her being hired to work at the front desk, deepening her understanding of the medical field.

Reflecting on her journey, Erina found great satisfaction in passing the CMA test, a testament to her hard work and dedication. Looking ahead, Erina is in the process of applying to nursing schools with aspirations of becoming a Registered Nurse, focusing on a career in Orthopedics. Erina's journey underscores her enjoyment of Medical Assisting, with a special mention of her favorite aspect—phlebotomy, where she discovered a passion for drawing blood. Her story serves as an inspiring example for aspiring healthcare professionals, showcasing the rewards of dedication and a genuine love for the field.
