Angelina Dickson - Middle Country CSD
Animal Science Program
Angelina Dickson, a senior from Middle Country CSD, always knew that she wanted to work with animals. When she initially visited the Bixhorn Technical Center, she knew she wouldn’t be satisfied with anything but Laura Donohue’s Animal Science I class. “As soon as I came here, I fell in love,” Angelina said. “I loved all the animals in the room, the posters, and, of course, how nice and informative the teachers were. If you’re passionate about animals, you belong here.”
After graduation, Angelina plans on continuing to study and work with animals, with the goal of becoming an animal nutritionist. The Animal Science program at BTC gave her the knowledge to research and assess the food she was feeding her dog and cats at home. With a firm understanding of nutrition under her belt, she learned how to optimize her pets’ diets, and wants to do that for other people’s pets as well.
