Welcome to the Eastern Long Island Academy of Applied Technology. Our Department creates opportunities for all students by providing them with the technical and academic skills needed to prepare for future employment and a successful path to college or other post-secondary programs.  

Our focus is to continue our efforts to gain student interest in local industries with high workforce demands like manufacturing by stressing the components of our Construction Trades and Automotive programs to focus on transferable skills like problem solving and basic mechanical knowledge. The Academy will continue to place emphasis on improving programs affordability and strive to ensure rigor and relevance in each of our programs.  

In addition to preparing our students for workforce, we place major emphasis on preparing students for college. Whether a high school student aspires to work right out of high school or enter college, the Academy will provide them with the tools for both college and career readiness.  

National research* indicates that students who pursue a technical endorsement in high school:

• earn higher test scores
• are more likely to graduate high school
• are more likely to persist in college
• are more likely to gain employment in their career field after college
