Four students from the Eastern Long Island Academy of Applied Technology received “Best in Show” distinctions at the recent Long Island Media Arts Show held in Dix Hills at the Five Towns College campus. Posted by Rob Van Brunt on 9/9/2016On September 9, 2016 the Art, Design and Visual Communication class here at BTC had a surprise guest speaker. Kiersten Miller, from Shoreham-Wading River and ADVC graduate alumni, popped in and discussed life as a college student and how her experience here at BTC has helped her easily adjust to college life. Kiersten also brought in some of her freelance professional graphic design work and gave the students some tips on networking. Kiersten said "One of the most important things you need to learn is how to communicate and not be afraid to talk to people you don't know...these networking skills lead me to several graphic design jobs."
