The Students in the Audio Production class are enjoying their new subscription to Recording magazine compliments of Music Maker Publications, Inc. and Recording Magazine. The students met representative Tiffany Heintz at the Audio Engineering Society Convention which they attended in October of this year at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City. The students are very grateful to both Ms. Heintz and Recording Magazine for this great opportunity to connect to the industry through Recording magazine. 

On Friday, October 5, 2018, Mr. Peter Nelson from Saratoga, N.Y. visited Mr. Sperl's Audio Production classes. Mr. Nelson brought some really great technology from his Roland Lucina keyboard to his Geo-Shred, which is a virtual keyboard running on an IPAD. He spoke to the students about the soft skills which will serve them well in their careers along with some audio recordings from his trips to Uganda, as he tries to build up music programs there. He inspired the students to work hard and ensure that they leave their mark on the audio industry. 

On Thursday, October 4, 2018, Mr. Sperl's Audio Production students were put to the test! They competed against one another performing one of the most important skills for an entry level audio engineer, specifically the art of the cable wrap. "Can you wrap a cable correctly?" is one of the first questions every new engineer gets asked and the winning team received bragging rights as the team that was able to wrap their cables faster and up to industry standards first. It was fun to compete against one another, while practicing this important skill.  Well done students :)

On Thursday, October 12, 2017, Full Sail Unversity brought it's audio truck to campus to visit with Mr. Sperl's Audio Production Classes. Students were invited into their semi truck to learn about their programs, explore some cutting edge technology, and collaborate with professionals from the university. After touring their truck, students invited the university staff to visit their studios and see what they do here at Ward Tech. It was an awesome experience, thank you Full Sail University for fitting us into your busy schedule!
