    Dear BTC Parents/Guardians

As we all experience the current uptick in the number of reported COVID-19 cases, we would like to remind all students, parents, guardians, faculty and staff of important health and safety protocols:

Everyone must wear a mask fully covering the mouth and nose when inside the school. Covering just the mouth is not enough. Masks must cover both the mouth and nose at all times.

Masks may be lowered when eating/drinking only when seated. Students, faculty and staff are not permitted to walk while eating and drinking with masks lowered.

To ensure everyone’s health and safety, and to avoid the potential quarantining of others, students who fail to comply with the masking protocols above will be addressed accordingly, which may include being sent home.

Students, faculty and staff may not attend school while awaiting results of COVID-19 testing. If awaiting results, please stay home and contact our school nurse after results have been obtained.

Lastly, we encourage everyone to be mindful of the impact that personal health and safety decisions have on others as we strive to prevent avoidable quarantining scenarios for our students and staff. Thank you for your cooperation.

    ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

    buenas tardes,

    Dear BTC Parents/Guardians,

As you are aware COVID 19 is still an active virus. Positive cases are being reported on a consistent basis. We share this information with you as part of our ongoing efforts to keep the community informed of issues of concern. We continue to work with the Suffolk County Department of Health Services and notify them when appropriate. We investigate every positive case reported to us and out of an abundance of caution, some students and staff may be asked to quarantine. If a student or staff member has been deemed a close contact, you will be notified by the building and/or Department of Health Services. Anyone NOT contacted can assume their child does not need to quarantine.

    If your child is vaccinated:

In the event your child is identified as a close contact, is vaccinated and asymptomatic, your child will not be required to quarantine.

If your child is required to quarantine as a result of being a close contact:
Please contact our school nurse: Ms. McNeill at 631-286-6543 for further direction.

If your child tests positive for COVID 19:
Report outcome to our school nurse: Ms. McNeill, at 631-286-6543

As a reminder, the symptoms of COVID 19 are similar to the regular seasonal influenza and include fever, coughing and shortness of breath. Some have reported additional symptoms, such as a runny nose, sore throat, nausea, lethargy, lack of appetite, vomiting and diarrhea. If your child is exhibiting any symptoms such as those listed above, please refrain from attending our center while symptoms are active. You are encouraged to contact your medical provider if you feel it is necessary.

Thank you for your support to ensure the health and safety of our school community. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to reach out.

     Sincerely,

    Nicole M. Zergebel
